They’re not wasting any time. Work to bring down the Truslow Road bridge over Interstate 95 will begin this week.

Demolition of the two-lane bridge will make way for an extension E-ZPass Express toll lanes that will be extended down the median of the highway to southern Stafford County, from Garrisonville Road in the northern end of the county.

Can you imagine using the shoulder lane on Interstate 95 to get where you’re going in Northern Virginia?

State transportation officials can. In fact, in a process they call “hardening the shoulders,” they’re proposing turning the emergency pull-off area on both the north and southbound sides of the highway into travel lanes.

Central Virginia Public Access Television (CVTV) has been on the air in Fredericksburg City, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties since Summer 2013. Most recently, the channel has appeared on Verizon Fios channel 34 in Spotsylvania and Stafford counties.

From the Prince William County Planning office to the county executive’s suite: Rebecca Horner will replace Chris Price as a deputy county executive, who left the county last fall to take a new job as the city manager in Chesapeake.

County press release | Following an extensive national search, the County Executive appointed Rebecca Horner as a Deputy County Executive for Community Development. The Board of County Supervisors concurred with the County Executive’s decision to appoint Horner, who will begin the position effective immediately.

Owner Alice Pires says she began the process of removing the wrought-iron fixtures on the windows of her Downtown Manassas eatery that caused such a stir with the city’s Architectural Review Board (ARB) last summer, and later in the year with the city council.
