A Prince William County resident is suing the county’s board of supervisors following an unpublicized meeting of five members of the governing body the day after a riot broke out in the county, near Manassas.

Alan Gloss, an eight-year resident of the Coles District and the plaintiff in the civil suit, says five the Democratic members of the Board of County Supervisors who attended the meeting violated Virginia Freedom of Information Act which requires meetings with more than two elected officials to be advertised to the public before they begin.

A tree fell into a house in Stafford County this afternoon.

Fire and rescue crews were called to a home in the 2400 block of Mountain View Road at 2:07 p.m.

Prince Willian police were called to the Braemar neighborhood this morning after someone spraypainted graffiti on two streets.

The vandals targeted Braemar Parkway and Tummel Falls Drive.

Updated: Fire breaks out at apartment on Cowan Boulevard

A fire broke out in a Fredericksburg apartment complex last Tuesday, but no firefighters or civilians were injured.

Firefighters were called to the 2300 block of Cowan Boulevard at 5:35 p.m. When they arrived they found a fire in a second-floor apartment with heavy smoke from the back of the structure.

Firefighters were called to the farm tonight.

At 9:20 p.m. Sunday, the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department crews were to the 400 block of Hollywood Farm Road in the White Oak area of the county, about seven miles outside Downtown Fredericksburg.

One person is in critical condition tonight after a crash on Prince William Parkway.

Fire and rescue crews were called to the intersection of the parkway and Sonora Street in Woodbridge, just across from BJs Wholesale Club at 9:20 p.m.

Prince William County Schools won’t show the Tweets that have now become the center of a legal investigation into the school division’s superintendent.

A law firm is now reviewing Tweets from Dr. Steven L. Walts, the 15-year chief of the county’s school division, after county resident Guy Morgan, of Gainesville, alleged the superintendent was using his social media account to exchange private, inappropriate comminution with students via Twitter’s direct message feature. Direct messages do not appear in the public timeline of a Twitter user.
