PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) On Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Prince William County Police Department and the Manassas City Police Department will join with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and community groups to provide you with a safe and legal way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.

Simply bring them to the collection sites at Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center, Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center, or Sentara Lake Ridge Medical Center.

WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) A Woodbridge man has been cited for reckless driving and defective brakes following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County.

At 1:52 p.m. Thursday (March 28), Virginia State Police Trooper J.S. Corvin responded to a crash involving an overturned tanker truck. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-495 at the 42 mile marker just south of the American Legion Bridge.

WOODBRIDGE — (Press release) OmniRide will test a double deck commuter bus for the next few weeks, and passengers who climb aboard will be asked to fill out a survey instead of paying a fare.

The seating configuration on double deck buses varies but this model, which is manufactured by Alexander Dennis Inc., has 81 seats, including 53 seats on the second deck. The bus has a low floor and can accommodate up to two passengers in wheelchairs at a time on the lower deck.

OCCOQUAN — (From an email) On Wednesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Occoquan Town Hall will be the site of the Occoquan launch of town resident Henry G. Brinton’s novel, “City of Peace.” 

Brinton is an author and Presbyterian pastor who has written on religion and culture for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA Today.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) On March 23 at 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the Macy’s within Manassas Mall located at 8270 Sudley Rd. in Manassas to investigate an armed robbery.

A store employee reported to police that three juvenile males entered the store and selected merchandise from the racks. Two of the males entered the dressing room area with the merchandise and, when they exited the dressing room, the merchandise had been concealed. The three males then attempted to exit the store where another employee encountered them. One suspect made verbal threats while brandishing a knife at the employee. The three suspects fled the scene on foot.
