Four people have tossed their name into the hat to be appointed supervisor, replacing Del. -Elect Mark Dudenhefer (R—Stafford, Woodbridge) who had served on the Board since 2006 and as Chairman since 2010.

The sitting Board is expected this month to appoint a temporary replacement for Dudenhefer, who was elected to the House of Delegates in November. The General Assembly convenes Jan. 11.

Law enforcement officials say 52-year-old Dana Connor is 5 feet 7 inches tall, 210 pounds with brown eyes, and believe he could live in Virginia and could have been traveling from the Washington area to New York City to rob the banks since September.

Woodbridge, Va. – He’s moving from the Stafford County Board of Supervisors to serve at the House of Delegates in Richmond, but he also has his eye on who will be elected president in 2012.

Del.- Elect Mark Dudenhefer (R-Stafford, Woodbridge) will work on a team of politicians in Virignia to help Mitt Romney win the state, and ultimately the White House.

If you’re going out tonight to celebrate the New Year, chances are you might need a ride home.

SoberRide will free taxi rides home for a fare up to $30 between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday. Users of the service must call 1-800-200-TAXI to receive the free ride, and rides cannot be ordered in advance.


Traffic

The commuter railroad is out with its proposed $88.7 million fiscal year 2013 operating budget that requires not only the approval of the VRE Operations Board but also the local jurisdictions that fund the service, like Prince William and Stafford counties.

The fare increase would equal about 30 cents more on the railroad’s most expensive fares, which now are $10.30 if the train is taken from Fredericksburg to Washington’s Union Station, $8.45 if ridden from Manassas to Washington.
