Dumfries, Va. — A driving force behind the Democratic Party in Prince William County passed away Sunday.
Kevin English, who was active in the Prince William County Democratic Party for 38 years and a former Dumfries Town Council member, died in his real estate office in Dumfries from a massive heart attack, Democratic sources said.
This month I lost my beloved Grandmother, Louise. She was 96-years-old at the time of her death and lived a very long and happy life, so I don’t think I’ll be too sad.
My Grandfather, Wilfred, died a few years earlier. I have fond memories visiting my grandparents in Massachusetts. One time, when I was about 8-years-old, when we came to visit there was a “clam bake” planned for the next day. Early that morning, my grandpa asked me if I wanted to feed the clams. Intrigued, I followed him down to their basement or cellar as they called it.

Pedestrians wearing headphones injured more often
As the use of portable music players has surged, the number of injuries to pedestrians wearing headphones has also spiked, a University of Maryland study published Monday shows, reports the Washington Examiner.
Not an animal but rather a construction machine was reported stolen from the campus Strayer University on Minneiville Road in Woodbridge on Thursday. The $30,000 piece of equipment was later found parked on Yolanda Court in Manassas, said Prince William police.

On Friday, January 13, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., the Department of Fire and Rescue held a graduation ceremony for Recruit Class 2011-2. The ceremony was held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, Virginia. Battalion Chief John Petrie presided over the ceremony.
Class 2011-2 consisted of 18 individuals who have successfully completed 24 weeks of rigorous academic and physical training at the Department’s Public Safety Training Center in Nokesville, Virginia.
The year that was, 2011, was a momentous one for the U.S. intelligence community. The 17 agencies that are part of it had their share of public successes and failures, just like in any year. But 2011 was noteworthy because many of the events our intelligence professionals dealt with will affect how we engage the world for years to come.
Usama bin Laden’s death in May, and the subsequent death of the American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, both in intelligence-driven operations, dealt severe blows to the al Qaeda terrorist franchise. Although that group has certainly not been eliminated, it has been, at least for now, marginalized.
