Good morning Prince William – Embrace Treatment Foster Care has an urgent need for new foster families. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on a child with your loving home. Come hear how to make this huge difference in a child’s life at their next information session on Tuesday, July 26th at 6:30 pm at the Chinn Park Library. · The 9th Annual ADA Celebration is Saturday, July 23rd at the Harris Pavilion in Old Town Manassas. The event runs 10am-2pm with lots of fun, activities, food, and live music to celebrate!

· Chapel of His Glory provides legal, social services, financial management workshops and fun family gatherings to families in the Manassas community. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, July 23rd at 10 am with their Immigration Assistance Clinic. Come and join their team in Georgetown South Community! · Catholic Charities- Hogar Immigrant Services is urgently seeking teachers for the English classes in Manassas, Woodbridge, and Dale City. These classes are held Monday-Thursday, but volunteers are only asked to teach once a week. Training is provided, and you do not need to know any other language. Please call Cynthia at (571) 208-1572 ext. 103 to learn more.

· Habitat for Humanity has lots of volunteer opportunities. Please visit the volunteer calendar for all the specifics at: www.habitatpwc.org. They especially need lunch donors to bring lunch to the other volunteers. It’s easy- just make some sandwiches, a bag of chips, few cookies and a drink to make their day.

· Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 16th for the 19th Annual Evening under the Stars to benefit CASA’s advocacy for over 500 abused children. It’s the place to be with all your friends and for a great cause. Please visit their website at: casacis.org for more info and tickets.

· StreetLight Ministries in Woodbridge offers some services to homebound seniors and other fragile clients. Volunteers are needed to provide transportation to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, and other simple chores. Please email Rev. Powers [email protected] to learn the many ways you can help another in the greater Woodbridge community.

· The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program –RSVP welcomes Jan Hawkins as our new program director. She can be reached at: [email protected] or [email protected]. She has lots of new and fun volunteer opportunities in the community. Cheers to senior power!

· The American Red Cross needs volunteers on Saturday, July 23rd from 8am-12noon for their Home Fire Preparedness Campaign. This event educates the community on fire safety and installs smoke alarms where needed. Registration is at 8 am, training at 8:30 am and out the door in teams in the Irongate community from 9am-12 noon. The event starts at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Manassas. · The PW Soil & Water Conservation District is looking for volunteers to help with the E.coli study of Quantico Creek. Veronica tells me it’s not rocket science but fun science just the same! Please email her at: [email protected] to learn more.

· The PW Conservation Alliance is sprucing-up of the K9 Gunner Dog Park on: August 6th from 9:30am-12pm. The address is 13000 Minnieville Rd., Woodbridge 22192. Wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and a hat to keep off the sun!

· Historic Manassas is gearing up for the Bands, Brews, and BBQ festival on September 10th. They need 60 people to poor beer from noon to 6 pm. There will be two shifts for pourers and over 50 craft beers and ciders for sampling! Contact Erin at: [email protected].

· Walk to end Alzheimer’s is coming up on October 15 in Manassas at the Harris Pavilion – visit their website for details on walking and volunteering! www.alzheimersassociationnca.volunteerlocal.com.
