Stafford County, Va. –– Fire and rescue crews in the Falmouth area fought a major brush fire Monday afternoon.
Crews from 13 fire and rescue stations were called at 2 p.m. to the area of Adler Lane in Stafford County for a report of a brush fire.
They arrived to find three acres of burning brush, but over the course of the next four hours would have to battle a fire that extended up to 10 acres of land, said Stafford fire and rescue Battalion Chief Joseph Grainger.
The fire was eventually contained, but not before it forced the closure of nearby Harrell Road for three hours. The fire did not impact any homes or the nearby railroad line, and no one was injured, said Grainger.
