2 in Serious Condition After Crash

A crash involving four cars and two people who were taken to the hospital in serious condition caused the closure of U.S. 1.

Fire and rescue crews about 5 p.m. were called to the intersection of U.S. 1 and Eskimo Hill Road in Stafford County after four cars crashed, at least two of them head on, according to initial reports.

Two people were taken to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg following the crash, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.

At least one person became trapped inside one of the wrecked cars, and was later extracted.

None of the victim’s were been identified.

The crash forced the closure of U.S. 1 for about an hour and a half.

Rescue crews were called to the area of Mountain View Road and Lightfoot Drive on after a truck ran off the road and a driver reportedly became trapped.

According to initial reports, the driver of the truck who became trapped inside was able to call 911 for help. His condition is not yet known.

Following this crash, about 5 p.m., another crash was reported in the area of U.S. 1 and Eskimo Hill Road in Stafford County that involved four vehicles, according to initial reports.

There is at least one person who is reported as seriously injured and will be taken to a hospital, according to reports.
