Woodbridge, Va. –– An underage male student from Gar-Field High School had a sexual relationship with a woman from Stafford County, police said.
The 16-year-old student was involved with the woman for one year, police said.
School officials learned of the relationship on Friday and then told police.
“Once we learned of the situation we acted immediately as we inclined and obligated to do,” said Prince William Public Schools spokesman Ken Blackstone.
School officials say at no time did the two individuals have sex on school property, and they also say the student was never in any physical danger.
Tina Marie Amato, 27, of Stafford County is charged with two counts of indecent liberties by a custodian, crimes against nature and use of a communications system to facilitate certain offenses, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
