
Virginia saw population boom and bust in last 10 years
As Virginia begins the redistricting process, the Washington Post reports the northern portion of the state has made large gains in population, putting it in line with many of the Sun Belt states in the southwest U.S. Other portions of the state that have lost population now look like the rust belt of the Midwest.
Trial begins for those charged in death of area soldier
The trial for one U.S. serviceman charged in the death of 19-year-old Army Spc. Morganne McBeth, who was stabbed in the heart at an Army base in Iraq, begins today, Fredericksburg.com reports. The late soldier’s parents now live in Stafford County.
