Stafford County, Va. –– Forecasters say some spring snow will begin falling in our area overnight.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for Prince William and Stafford counties, as one to three inches of snow could fall.
The heaviest of the snow is expected to fall during the early part of Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures tonight are expected to dip to the mid to upper 20s, and highs tomorrow should reach the mid to upper 30s with 5 to 10 mph winds.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says travel overnight and into tomorrow could be difficult.
Snow removal crews in Stafford County are mobilizing in advance of the approaching storm.
If significant snow does fall, drivers should slow down, allow additional time to arrive at their destinations, keep a safe distance from snow plows and do not pass them unless absolutely necessary, said VDOT spokeswoman Kelly Hannon.
Any snow should end sometime before 2 p.m. Skies are expected to clear overnight and mostly sunny skies are forecasted for Monday.
