Falmouth, Va. –– One person was treated for minor burns Thursday after a fire broke out at a home in Falmouth.

Fire and rescue crews were called to 59 Melanie Hollow Lane at 10:41 p.m. after fire was reported on the second floor of the home.

After crews made sure the occupants of the house made it out safely, crews began “an aggressive interior attack” and brought fire under control in about 30 minutes, said Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Mark Doyle.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the home. The blaze was contained to the second floor of the home, as well as an attic area, said Doyle.

The victim was treated at the scene and refused to go to the hospital.

The home was occupied by the victim and two children, said Doyle.
