David Edward Whitman, 72, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on January 22, 2014. Beloved husband of Patricia A. Whitman. Loving father of Kimberly L. Whitman and Christopher D. Whitman (Joy) and their 4 children. Step father of Cindy Weare and John Weare (Martha) and their children Ashley and Melissa Weare. Dear brother of Marilyn Cellucci (Bill), Pamela Whitman (Stephen); and Carl Whitman (Rebecca). Mr. Whitman was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked at the Pentagon for 27 years in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. After he retired, he worked at Lowe’s in Dale City. He was an avid volunteer with the Prince William County Police Department.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and was honored that he got to ride a motorcycle in all 50 states. The bike rides he enjoyed the most were those with his loving wife, who also had a bike. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Prince William County Police Survivor Trust, 6012 Omega Lane, Manassas, VA 20112.
