PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Officials plan to improve a section of Logmill Road in Prince William County. The hilly two-lane road in recent years has been the site of several crashes, some that were fatal and involved teenagers.
Transportation officials say they want to a improve a portion of Logmill Road, between Parnell Court and Meander Creek Lane, to improve the sight distance to make it easier to see oncoming drivers, as well as improve the vertical lines of the roadway.

Over the past couple of years, there have been many discussions on the best way to make safety improvements to Logmill Road, while also respecting the access for residents and emergency vehicles.
The county Transportation Department has developed a new plan to make the much needed safety improvements to Logmill Road, while also keeping the road open during construction.
Prince William County officials will hold their meeting on Logmill Road improvements at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at the Evergreen Volunteer Fire and Rescue Social Hall at 3510 James Madison Highway in Haymarket. It’s there officials will take comments and suggestions on improvements to the road.
This is the second of two public hearings for the roadway improvements for this project. The first meeting was held prior to Christmas last year.
Once the project gets underway, right-of-way authorization will begin this fall and work should be complete by summer 2014.
