Jolly Carolers Bring Holiday Cheer — and Invite Fredericksburg to Their Christmas Shows

We were doing a little shopping along Caroline Street on Small Business Saturday, and the sound of live carolers drifted out onto the sidewalk — the kind of thing that makes Downtown Fredericksburg feel like a Hallmark movie this time of year.

A small group of singers, dressed for the season and full of energy, gathered outside the storefronts and treated shoppers to a burst of classic holiday music. After finishing a song, they surprised us with an invitation to their upcoming Christmas performances — and they’ve clearly been busy preparing.

The group is promoting not one but two holiday productions directed by David Schubert:

Holiday Concert 2025

  • A night of holiday carols and seasonal favorites
  • Performances at 7:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Featuring musical selections and “magical performances”

Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Fredericksburg Christmas Show

  • Based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
  • Adapted by Gordon Greenberg & Steve Rosen
  • Shows run December 12–14 and December 19–21
  • Presented by Stage Door Productions at 810 Caroline Street

Both shows promise classic holiday storytelling, live music, and a local cast that seems genuinely excited to share the season with the community.

As always, Downtown Fredericksburg knows how to make the holidays feel special — sometimes all it takes is stepping out of a shop and hearing carolers on the sidewalk.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly way to get into the spirit, these productions might be worth adding to your December calendar.
