MANASSAS, Va. — Campaign signs for Gov. Mitt Romney were found tossed in the yard of a Manassas home Thursday.

Prince William Republican Committee Brentsville District Chairman John Hinkle said instances of campaign sign vandalism are more common as the November General Election approaches Nov. 6. The committee also has seen similar sign vandalism at a home in Dale City, and called police when a large Romney sign was stolen from the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Minnieville Road in Woodbridge.
The sign vandalism in Prince William County comes after a Romney yard sign was set ablaze in Loudoun County.
Virginia is a political battleground state as Romney is expected to appear in Haymarket on Sunday, and President Obama is reportedly planning to appear with Bill Clinton in Prince William County on Monday.
