Shooting into a Residential Dwelling
Dumfries | 17000 block of Point Pleasant Ln.
On February 24 at 10:56 p.m., officers responded to a shots-fired call at a residence in Dumfries. An investigation revealed that multiple rounds were fired, striking the rear of the home. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Officers recovered shell casings and a round near the backyard fence.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – Arrest
Woodbridge | 2900 block of Wetherburn Ct.
On February 24 at 10:44 p.m., officers responded to a shots-fired call and determined that James BROADAX, 70, fired multiple rounds into the air following a brief interaction with a neighbor. The accused was located in a parking lot, found to be intoxicated, and detained without incident. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Charges: Reckless handling of a firearm, intoxicated in public
Bond: $4,000 secured

Breaking and Entering
Goodwill (39 Town and Country Drive) – On February 23 at 9:01 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary at Goodwill. Staff reported that suspects forcefully entered the business and stole a safe. Surveillance footage captured three suspects breaking in at approximately 1:43 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
Moon Star (201 Kings Highway) – On February 23 at 12:10 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary at the Moon Star restaurant. Cash and approximately $300 worth of shrimp were stolen. The investigation continues.
DUI Arrests
Warrenton Road (700 block) | February 21, 4:21 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported in a Nissan Pathfinder. The driver nearly crashed multiple times before being involved in an accident. Deputies found suspected controlled substances in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for DUI and two counts of drug possession.
Richmond Highway & Kings Crest Drive | February 23, 12:53 a.m. – A driver was caught speeding 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. During the traffic stop, the suspect displayed signs of intoxication and had a nearly empty bottle of Bacardi. He was arrested for DUI with a BAC between .15 and .2.
Garrisonville Road & Mine Road | February 23, 1:23 a.m. – A driver rear-ended another vehicle at a red light. The suspect admitted to consuming a vodka-cranberry and was arrested for DUI.
I-95 Southbound (Mile Marker 139) | February 23, 1:56 a.m. – Deputies stopped a swerving Acura after reports of erratic driving. The driver admitted to having mimosas at a Galentine’s party and was arrested for DUI.
I-95 Southbound (Mile Marker 135) | February 23, 3:07 a.m. – An off-duty officer reported a reckless driver in a Honda. Deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for DUI.
Larceny
Walmart (11 Village Parkway) | February 23, 6:11 p.m. – A male suspect stole over $45 worth of items and fled in a red Dodge Charger. Deputies later located the vehicle and arrested the suspect for shoplifting.
Wawa (920 Wonder Road) | February 23, 9:57 p.m. – A male suspect loaded over $60 worth of items into a bag and refused to pay, stating, “I get what I want,” before leaving in a Honda Civic.
Aldi (1030 Warrenton Road) | February 24, 3:45 p.m. – A female suspect wearing a fur jacket stole nearly $90 worth of items. Deputies arrived as she was smoking a cigarette outside the store. She was issued a summons for shoplifting.
Public Intoxication
John Jay Road | February 21, 9:38 p.m. – A female suspect was found screaming and banging on doors. Deputies discovered she was intoxicated and had a glass pipe with suspected controlled substances. She also had an outstanding warrant from Prince William County. She was arrested for public intoxication and drug possession and served on her warrant.
Vandalism
Backridge Court | February 23, 7:38 a.m. – A man visiting his girlfriend found his truck had been keyed. Doorbell footage revealed the suspect was the girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. The suspect admitted he was too drunk to remember the incident. He was arrested for destruction of property and held until sober.
