Stafford County Public Schools announced that Nevaeh Lewis of Colonial Forge High School and Emma Siegmund of Rodney Thompson Middle School have been selected for prestigious roles in Virginia’s legislative programs.
Lewis will serve as a House of Delegates Page, while Siegmund has been chosen as a Senate Page. These appointments provide hands-on opportunities to learn about government and leadership during the upcoming General Assembly session in Richmond beginning January 8.
Superintendent Dr. Daniel W. Smith praised the students, stating that these roles will help develop leadership skills and inspire civic engagement. Both programs include working with legislators, participating in committee meetings, and engaging in civics and leadership education. Pages will also take part in mock legislative sessions and community service projects.
Siegmund, a high-achieving middle schooler with a 4.0+ GPA, is active in Model United Nations, the National Junior Honors Society, and other academic programs and is the daughter of county school board chair Maureen Siegmund. Lewis, a talented artist and performer, is also deeply involved in her church and community.

Stafford County Public Schools is proud to announce that two of its students, Nevaeh Lewis of Colonial Forge HS and Emma Siegmund of Rodney Thompson Middle School, have been selected for prestigious positions in Virginia’s legislative programs. Lewis has been appointed as a Virginia House of Delegates Page, while Siegmund will serve as a Senate Page. Both students will engage in immersive, hands-on learning experiences within Virginia’s General Assembly during the upcoming legislative session.

The House Page Program offers youth a unique opportunity to work closely with legislators in the House of Delegates, gaining insight into the legislative process and participating in civics education, leadership development, and community service projects. As a House Page, Lewis will assist in the daily operations of the House of Delegates Clerk’s Office, including working with committees and staff, performing office duties, and engaging in the program’s comprehensive civics curriculum.
Siegmund, selected as a Senate Page, will participate in similar responsibilities, including working on the Senate floor, delivering documents to officials, and supporting committee meetings. The Senate Page Program is designed to foster leadership skills and civic responsibility while offering a detailed study of the legislative process. Participants also engage in professional development and community service, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Both programs are structured to provide students with invaluable experiences in a professional environment, blending educational components with real-world applications. Participants will attend structured learning activities, engage with elected officials, and develop essential skills such as time management, public speaking, and financial literacy. These programs also include hands-on experiences, such as mock legislative sessions, where Pages will take on roles in debates and discussions.
The Page programs require full commitment from the selected students and their families, as the participants will reside in Richmond Sunday through Friday for the duration of the legislative session, traveling home on weekends. This rigorous and highly respected program offers a capstone experience in which students demonstrate their understanding of the legislative process by engaging in mock debates and legislative activities.
Siegmund is building on her interest in leadership and civics, having attended Camp O’Connor, a national civics conference that provides middle school students with an opportunity to learn about civics and government. She is actively involved in her school’s Model United Nations, National Junior Honors Society, Battle of the Books Team, and Book Club. An avid scholar, she has achieved a 4.0+ grade point average in both years of middle school.
Lewis has a passion for the arts, effortlessly captivating audiences with her acting and singing talents. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Nevaeh is a dedicated servant with a strong faith, actively participating in her church community. A true adventurer at heart, Nevaeh embraces life with open arms. She cherishes her bond with family and friends, always seeking to uplift and inspire those around her. Her wisdom, beyond her years, allows her to perceive the inherent goodness in others, even when they may struggle to see it themselves.
