NORTH STAFFORD, Va. -- The 1920’s-era farmhouse that has served as a temporary fire station in North Stafford since 2010 has reached the end of its life.
Because of the house’s deteriorating conditions that have lead to concerns for the safety of the fire and rescue personnel stationed there, the house at 53 Shelton Shop Road will be razed and a new modular building will be installed over the next few weeks.
The house, Fire Station 14 as its known, was converted into a temporary fire station to fill a gap in fire coverage in North Stafford. By purchasing the property for about $1 million, the county prevented insurance readjustments for surrounding properties in the area.
