STAFFORD, Va. — Authorities in Stafford County are investigating a bomb threat at Rodney Thompson Middle School.

All students have been evacuated from the building and no one has been injured, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The threat was called into the school just after 11 a.m. Investigators are on scene trying to determine its credibility.

The middle school houses 1,124 students.

The threat comes after Stafford Senior High School was evacuated earlier today after smoke was reported in the building. No one was injured there.

Additionally, smoke filled a building on Montezuma Avenue at the Quantico Marine Corps Base after 10 a.m. No one was injured there, smoke was cleared, and the fire units returned to their stations, according to Quantico spokesman Chuck Jenks.

Kennedy said all three incidents do not appear to be related.
