35 Recognized for Seat Belt Safety

STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office recently held their annual Saved by the Belt Award Ceremony honoring 35 citizens. These citizens were all in motor vehicle accidents this year, where they were not charged, but remained injury free due to the wearing of seatbelts.

Under the direction of Deputy Bill Crane a ceremony was held honoring these citizens and their families, for their efforts that saved personal injury and, in a few cases, saved lives.

Stafford County Board of Supervisor Chairman Susan Stimpson complimented the honorees for their actions, and Sheriff Charles Jett spoke about seat belt safety and the difference it can make in the life of a motor vehicle operator. Those receiving the Saved by the Belt award ranged in age from the very young to adult.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that wearing a seat belt, each and every time you are in a motor vehicle, can save an injury or your life.
