Police Tactical Units Surround Home After Burglary

Woodbridge, Va. — A burglary in Woodbridge on Monday prompted a police SWAT team into action.

Officers were called at 1:45 p.m. to the 3300 block of Ladino Court, near Cardinal Drive, for a report of a burglary at townhome, and found a ladder set against a second floor window. Officers learned there were several firearms inside the home and then took up positions around the townhouse.

A negotiator, K-9 units, with the support of SWAT all came to the scene and helped to draw one of the suspects out of the home without incident, state Prince William police documents.

But a second suspect fled the scene as officers were surrounding the house, and three firearms that had been inside the home turned up missing.

At 3:39 p.m., officers tried to find the second suspect in the Birchdale area of Dale City. Police stopped a car at Birchdale Drive and Dale Boulevard, and the second suspect got out and fled on foot, stated police documents.

Police were unable to find the second suspect, but arrest warrants remain on file for him.

Brandon Delonte Braxton, 18, of 5542 Victory Loop in Manassas, is charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny of a firearm. Braxton is the suspect who had been coaxed out of the house, and was held without bond.

Daniel James Gilliam, 18, of 14718 Birchdale Drive in Dale City, is described as a black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, brown eyes, and black afro style hair. He is wanted for burglary and grand larceny of a firearm.

Prince William County court records show Daniel James Gilliam was charged last year with malicious wounding a separate incident.
