Crews Clean Up Fuel Spill on I-95

A driver is charged in a crashed that caused fuel to spill on I-95 this morning.

A 2012 Kenmore truck crashed about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday when the driver ran into the northbound shoulder of the highway, at the 145 mile post, struck a sign and them some trees.

The truck crashed spilling up to 15 gallons of fuel on the road, which was cleaned up by the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department, said Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.

Marshall Lee Foye, 53, is charged with reckless driving, said Tyler.

Officials cleared the truck from the scene and said drivers in the area were delayed late this morning after many slowed to look at the crashed truck.

North Stafford, Va. — Drivers on Interstate 95 in Stafford County are delayed because of minor a fuel spill.

County officials report the spill is affecting northbound traffic between mile post 140 and 146.

The spill is the result of an accident that involved a tractor trailer about 7 a.m. Tuesday. Fire crews are on the scene working to clean up the spill, which dumped about five gallons of fuel just north of the Garrisonville Road interchange.

Traffic is getting by the spill now, but Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler said crews many have to shut down one lane of traffic later today to remove the crashed tractor trailer.

There are no reports of injuries.
