Coronavirus claims life of second Stafford victim

A woman in her 80s is the second person to die from the coronavirus in Stafford County.

The county reports:

[The Rappahannock Area Health District] reported 44,169 people had been tested statewide. There are 6,500 confirmed cases, 1,048 hospitalized, 195 deaths [in Virginia].

There are now 108 cases in Stafford, 60 in Spotsylvania, 17 in King George, 15 in Fredericksburg and nine in Caroline.

Sadly, we had our second death – a woman in her 80s who passed away at Mary Washington Hospital. This death is now included in the 195 death count.

Stafford County reported its first coronavirus death three days ago.

In neighboring Prince William County, there are 536 cases of coronavirus, and a total of 11 people have died.

Of the 154 coronavirus deaths in Virginia, the majority of them have been patients who are between the ages of 50 and 59, according to state health department data.
