In Prince William County, local elected politicians have access to a discretionary fund account, which is left over money – allotted by taxpayers – after all of the expenses of running a district office have been paid for.
It’s the only jurisdiction in Northern Virginia that allows such a fund, and The Washington Post takes a look at how some of the discretionary money is being spent, and who says they don’t feel comfortable donating to, of all things, charitable causes.
