One person is dead and now police are searching for the driver they believe struck and killed him.
It happened Tuesday in the area of the Telegraph Road commuter lot in Woodbridge. A press release states:
Fatal Crash Investigation | Hit and Run â On December 10 at 7:15PM, officers responded to the area of Caton Hill Rd. and Telegraph Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a red sedan was traveling east on Caton Hill Rd. approaching the intersection with Telegraph Rd. when the vehicle struck a pedestrian, identified as a 30-year-old man. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The striking vehicle fled the scene, continuing eastbound on Caton Hill Rd. towards the Prince William County Pkwy. At this time, it remains unclear if the pedestrian was struck within the crosswalk at the intersection or if he had the signal to cross. The investigation continues.
