Pedestrian Killed on U.S. 1

Woodbridge, Va. – Police have identified the man who was struck and killed last night on U.S. 1 in Woodbridge.

Ken Lashay Wood, 43, of no fixed address, was killed while crossing the four-lane highway near Panther Pride Drive near Potomac High School about 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

A 2003 GMC Envoy was traveling south on U.S. 1 and struck Wood after it passed thorugh the intersection. Wood was walking alongside the road, said Prince William police.

Wood was taken to Potomac Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 54-year-old female driver from Fredericksburg has not been charged, said police.
