Dale City, Va. — It appears a Lake Ridge man took the phrase better late than never to heart.
Scott Bell on the eve of the 2011 General Election announced he would be a write-in candidate in the race for Neabsco District Supervisor, representing a portion of Dale City and eastern Prince William County.
Bell, an Independent, is pitted against Democratic Incumbent John Jenkins who has served on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors since 1982, and is the longer serving incumbent on the Board.
“I don’t know what else to say. I’m 40, a nine year veteran of the Air Force and am currently an information technology specialist for the government. I have lived most of the last 15 years in Prince William County and think there’s a good common sense approach to local government, which is where you see the quickest most direct impact to daily lives,” said Bell when asked why he decided to throw his hat in the ring at the last minute. “You can’t do everything all at once and need to be ready to compromise to get the best possible solutions to problems.”
Without a campaign website Facebook is where Bell has turned to the web to tell others what he’s all about. In addition to being a fan of third-party candidates, he’s also a fan of Woodbridge’s Potomac Nationals.
Polls close at 7 p.m.
