Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest in Woodbridge

A road rage incident in Woodbridge led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man for attempted malicious wounding. The incident occurred near Richmond Hwy and Powells Creek Blvd, where the suspect allegedly reversed his vehicle towards a 29-year-old man and then accelerated towards a vehicle occupied by a 30-year-old woman. No injuries were reported, and the suspect was later detained by officers.

In another incident, a strong-arm robbery was reported at a 7-Eleven on Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge. An unknown man attempted to steal alcohol and assaulted a store employee before fleeing in a dark-colored Jeep. No injuries were reported.

Additionally, officers responded to a shots fired call on Lynhurst Dr in Woodbridge. Shell casings were found at the scene, but no injuries or property damage were reported.

Two attempted residential burglaries were reported in Manassas and Bristow, with damage to the front doors but no entry or theft. Vandalism at Andrew Leitch Park in Woodbridge included spray-painted homophobic and antisemitic remarks.

Strong-Arm Robbery – On December 6 at 3:54AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 14410 Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an unknown man attempted to take alcohol when he was confronted by a store employee. During the encounter, the employee was assaulted by the man who dropped the merchandise and left the business. The suspect was last seen getting into a dark-colored Jeep and leaving the area. No injuries were reported. The suspect was only described as a being a white male.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On December 5 at 11:35PM, officers responded to the 13700 block of Lynhurst Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed gunshots were heard as a vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. No injuries or property damage were reported. Officers located shell casings in the roadway.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 7 at 1:02PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7600 block of Callan Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between 3:00AM and 1:00PM, entry was attempted into the home through the front door which was damaged. No entry was made into the residence, and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 7 at 11:19AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10100 block of Pale Rose Lp in Bristow (20136) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed an unknown man attempted to enter the home through the front door which was damaged. No entry was made into the residence, and no property was reported missing. The suspect arrived and left the scene in a dark-colored SUV.

Vandalism – On December 7 at 11:03AM, officers responded to Andrew Leitch Park located at 5301 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a vandalism. The investigation revealed several locations within the park where spray painted with markings that included homophobic and antisemitic remarks, as well as other derogatory language and images. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime December 3 and December 7. No suspect(s) information was provided.

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On December 7 at 12:33AM, officers responded to the area of Richmond Hwy and Powells Creek Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a road rage incident. The investigation revealed the victims, a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were stopped behind another vehicle in the above area. At one point, the light changed to green, and the other vehicle failed to move. When the male victim attempted to check on the driver, later identified as the accused, the accused reversed the vehicle, almost striking the victim twice. The accused then made a U-turn and quickly accelerated towards the vehicle where the female victim was still occupying. No contact was made and the parties separated. No injuries were reported. A short time later, officers observed the vehicle near Dumfries Rd where a vehicle stop was conducted, and the accused detained without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Demarcus Antonio BYRDSONG, was arrested.
