Commercial Fire Damages Garages in Fredericksburg, Dog Rescued

Firefighters from Fredericksburg and neighboring counties battled a commercial fire Monday morning on Princess Anne Street. The blaze damaged five garage bays and sent thick smoke into the air behind the old Coca-Cola building.

Crews arrived just after 10 a.m. and found flames coming from two garage units. They quickly deployed hose lines and cut into the roof to help control the fire. A dog was rescued from the scene, and no injuries were reported.

The Fredericksburg Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause. Fire crews from Spotsylvania and Stafford counties assisted in the response.

News Release: Fredericksburg Fire Department Responds to Commercial Fire

(Fredericksburg, VA) November 10, 2025 – At approximately 10:00 a.m., the Fredericksburg Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a report of a structure fire in the 2000 block of Princess Anne Street.

Fire units arrived shortly after the call and observed smoke and flames coming from two garage units located behind the old Coca-Cola building. Firefighters quickly deployed multiple hose lines to contain and extinguish the fire and cut several holes in the roof to help ventilate and control the blaze.

One dog was rescued from the fire. Five garage bays sustained varying levels of damage from smoke, fire or water.

At the height of the incident, the Fredericksburg Fire Department, along with Spotsylvania County Fire and Stafford County Fire-Rescue, were on scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The property owner has been notified and is working with staff on clean-up protocols.

The Fredericksburg Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) is currently investigating the incident and working to determine the fire’s origin and cause. Their investigation is ongoing, and a report will not be available for several days.
