For Jean Humbrecht, becoming an attorney was a lifelong ambition. “I have always wanted to be an attorney. Specifically, I always wanted to work in the field of criminal law,” she shared. “I love being in court, and I love that no day is ever the same.”
Humbrecht’s journey began with a government job after passing the bar. While it provided stability, it lacked fulfillment. “It was comfortable, but I never was truly happy at work,” Humbrecht recalled. Determined to pursue her passion, she spent two years working full-time while earning her LL.M. in Litigation from The George Washington University Law School. In 2014, she leaped and established Humbrecht Law, PLLC, in the heart of Manassas.
“Starting my own law firm was never something that I had planned to do,” Humbrecht admitted. “But once I did, I never looked back. And now, ten years later, we are still here and thriving.”
Humbrecht Law focuses on defending traffic and criminal cases throughout Prince William County and Northern Virginia. “We handle everything from traffic tickets to serious felony charges,” Humbrecht explained. “We also wrote the book on speeding tickets in Virginia—literally!” The firm extends its expertise by offering complimentary presentations to businesses with drivers, highlighting the consequences of poor driving records on employment.
Like many small business owners, Humbrecht faced challenges along the way. “The biggest challenge would probably be what we call growing pains—handling the growing business appropriately while also trying to keep overhead expenses as low as possible,” she said.
Located at 9242A Mosby Street in Manassas, Humbrecht Law continues to make its mark on the community, reflecting Humbrecht’s unwavering dedication to her craft. “This firm represents what I went to law school to learn how to do,” she said, proud of the firm’s achievements over the past decade.
As the firm celebrates its milestone, Humbrecht Law remains committed to providing robust legal defense and fostering community partnerships, helping individuals and businesses navigate the complexities of the legal system.
