On Tuesday, January 3, Spherion staffing agency presented a $1,000 check to House of Mercy, a non-profit organization. The check was presented by Kathleen Geneva, the Spherion franchise owner, outside the House of Mercy located at 8170 Flannery Court near Gainesville.
House of Mercy is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and food pantry that was established in 2007. Since January 2022, House of Mercy has connected with 836 new families, served 306,721 pounds of food, and assisted 34,712 people in the Northern Virginia area.
While House of Mercy was founded initially as a prayer ministry in 2005, founders Kellie Ross and Fr. Jack Fullen quickly realized they could supplement their community with necessities such as food and clothing.
Spherion Staffing and Recruiting in Prince William and Fairfax counties are dedicated to giving back this holiday season through the brand’s annual Community Giveback Program. This program aims to highlight local organization’s efforts to create change in communities.
This donation comes shortly after Spherion was nominated for the 2022 Prince William Chamber of Commerce Business Award.
“We’re honored to not only have been nominated in one, but two categories for the 12th annual Prince William Chamber of Commerce Business Awards,” said Kathleen Geneva, franchise owner of Spherion Staffing Prince William County. “We have such an impressive community of entrepreneurs serving Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park, so to be recognized among such accomplished businesses is a win in and of itself. I’m so appreciative of my staff, our candidates, and our client companies for making this happen.”
