Kathern Lynn McClanahan, known as Kakie to her family and Kathy to her friends passed away on July 4, 2017. Kakie was born to Raymond and Evelyn Smith who survive her. Her children, Raymond (Amy), Freddie (Benai) and Forrest and her siblings Carolyn Burrell and Jimmy Smith are all grieving for her. Her ex-husband, Fred, who remained a close friend is mourning her also.
Kathy loved being a Mom and her children brought her so much joy. She loved going to the beach and did so whenever possible. She was always listening to rock music. When music was not being played you knew that she would be watching a movie. “Beaches” was her favorite movie along with anything that stared Shirley Temple.
Kathy loved raising Dachshunds and hated it when she had to stop. They were her favorite breed.
She was the owner of a cleaning business, “Special Touch” and worked throughout the Northern Virginia Area.
