Meteorologists at the NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center once again peered into their crystal ball to provide thier annual winter outlook.
One of the strongest El Nino weather patterns ever to be recorded will play a major role in our winter weather this year.
We can expect warmer than average temperatures in the Northeast, and above average temperatures in the Northwest and northern U.S. states.
Cooler than average temperatures are forecasted in Texas and the Southeast states like Georgia and Florida. Temperatures in our area should be about average.
A wetter than average winter is predicted for the southern California, across the southern U.S., and in the Piedmont and Tidewater regions of Virginia. The weather service doesn’t provide indicators to tell how much snow we might see this winter — just temperature and precipitation.
We’ve provided a NOAA’s video forecast in this post for you to view.
