The Gainesville Haymarket Baseball League is proud to announce that the GHBL 14 Year Old All Star team, managed by Jim Whitt and made up of players from Gainesville, Haymarket, Bristow and Fauquier are headed to the Babe Ruth World Series in Pine Bluff, Ark.
They earned the trip by winning the Virginia State Championship for the second consecutive year in early July. They then won the Southeast Regional Title in Jupiter, Fla. over Tennessee by the score of 7-6 on Saturday August 1, 2015.
The team is currently raising money to pay for expenses associated with the 8-10 day trip to Pine Bluff. We proudly support the players and team members, coaches and parents, as many of these players have been playing in the league since they were five years old! They also represent Battlefield, Patriot, and Fauquier High Schools as well as Bull Run Middle and Gainesville Middle Schools.
