 ·         The Greater Prince William Community Health Center is celebrating National Health Center Week on August 13-15 from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. each day. We have an urgent need for volunteers every day to assist with free health screenings such as mammograms, checks for cholesterol, anemia, diabetes, heart disease, depression, vision and dental to name just a few. The event will include free car seats, lunch, and music and fun children’s entertainment. So as you can see, your volunteer effort will make a huge impact on thousands of individuals participating in this super event. Please visit: GPWhealthcenter.org for more info or call Richard at (703) 670-8858 to volunteer. There will also be a volunteer orientation on Friday August 9 at 1 p.m. to give you all the specifics to jump right in and help. Teens age 17 and older are very welcome and of course you do not need a health background to be part of this wonderful community event.
·         Habitat for Humanity is seeking a sign language interpreter to help with a new applicant who has critical home repairs. The applicant is deaf and disabled. Come help the Habitat folks help this family with immediate needs. They would also like to form a bank of interpreters for future reference. Please call Tiffanie at (703) 369-6708 to learn more.
