NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A sable-colored Yorkshire Terrier was stolen from a home in North Stafford.
The owner of the dog, who lives on Paris Lane just off Onville Road, said he put “Scooby” outside about 6 p.m. Sunday. The dog was wearing a collar and was tethered to a leash.
When the owner when to check on the dog about 8 p.m., all that remained was the collar and leash. Scooby was gone, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
The owner spent several hours looking around his neighborhood for Scooby, and told authorities he feared the dog was stolen because he didn’t think the dog was able to remove the collar.
