DUMFRIES, Va. — The Muppets are taking Dumfries.
The town, along with Pillar Church, will present the latest Muppet movie on June 9 at 7 p.m. at Garrison Park behind Town Hall.
The movie is free, and so is the popcorn that will be passed out to those who come. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be sold, said Dumfries spokeswoman Cydny Neville.
“The Muppets,” released by Disney last fall, is the latest incarnation of the popular TV and film series started in the 1970’s, starring Jim Henson’s Muppet’s Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. This updated tale of the signing puppets takes place in Los Angeles, where Muppets learn Tex Richman wants to drill for oil underneath the famed Muppet Theater.
