BIKE TO WORK DAY
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Tomorrow marks the annual Bike to Work day, and Virginia Railway Express wants bicycle riders to take their bikes to the train station.
Thousands in the Washington area are expected to take part in Bike to Work day. In the Potomac Communities, pit stops will set up at the Rippon and Woodbridge VRE stations, the Prince William County Public Schools Kelly Leadership Center off Va. 234, and at the Chinn Center in Woodbridge, where riders can get free food, drinks and win prizes. Organizers encourage riders to register online at the pit stop closest to them to be eligible for prizes.
“We encourage passengers to ride their bicycle to the station lock it up there and ride the train the rest of the way into work,” stated to a VRE email to riders.
Riders are encouraged to ride to work in a convoy of bike riders. The event was started in 1956 by the League of American Bicyclists.
