Woodbridge, Va. — A man was accidentally shot in the leg just blocks from a Prince William County police station.
On Friday, officers were called to the 15800 block of Donald Curtis Drive after the victim called 911 and said he’d been shot in the leg by someone he knew.
The 59-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. The woman who allegedly shot the victim turned herself into police Wednesday.
Laurie Louise Galambos, 58, of the 15800 block of Donald Curtis Drive, is charged with reckless handling of a firearm, stated Prince William police documents. She was released on summons.
In other Prince William police news, officers are looking for a man they say eluded police after a pursuit Tuesday.
Police tried to stop a vehicle in the area of Old Bridge Road and Dillingham Square in Lake Ridge at 12:33 a.m., but the driver ignored the lights and siren of the officer’s car and continued to driver to the area of Trafalgar Lane and Charing Court, police documents state. The driver – the only occupant in the car – bailed out forcing police to send out K-9 units into the area in search for the driver.
The car turned out to have been stolen from a house on Ensbrok Lane in Dale City earlier that night.
The driver is said to be a black male with a thin build, 5 foot 10 inches to six feet tall.
