Stafford County, Va. — A series of break-ins at have kept law enforcement officers in Stafford County busy.
Two homes were broken into Monday along Hollywood Farm Road in south Stafford. A sheriff’s deputy was called to a home in the 100 block of Hollywood Farms Road about 4 p.m. where a house had it doors cracked and kicked open, was ransacked and a small jar of change and some medications taken.
Deputies also found another home had been broken into just one block up from the first house, and this time the culprit took jewelry, medication, checkbooks and a safe, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
On Tuesday, a home in the Austin Ridge neighborhood on Merrill Court was broken into sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. The house was ransacked, a sharp instrument was used to cut through a dresser drawer to gain access to valuables, and jewelry was taken from the home, said Kennedy.
These latest burglaries come after another home in North Stafford was burglarized, and a safe that was reported taken from the home was later found in the house’s backyard.
Police say the two burglaries on Hollywood Farms Road appear to be related but the incidents in North Stafford appear to all be separate.
