Prince William County, Va. — Hundreds of volunteers—including policy makers, business leaders and high school students—will read to more than 20,000 students in Prince William, Manassas and Manassas Park on Nov. 15.
Organized by the Education Committee of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, this local initiative is held in recognition of National Young Readers Day. Chamber President & CEO Rob Clapper, city managers from Manassas and Manassas Park, service members and Potomac Nationals mascot “Uncle Slam” are among those that will be visiting nearly 40 area schools to highlight the importance of reading.
