Stafford, Va, — A series of fires in the last 24 hours has claimed its latest victims.
Fire and rescue crews at 5:56 a.m. Friday were called to a house fire at 135 Theresa Drive, just off Winding Creek Drive in Stafford, as fire engulfed the second story of the two-story home.
Everyone escaped the blaze without injury, and fire crews were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes of arriving on the scene, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle in a press release.
Two occupants from the home were examined by medical personnel but were not taken for treatment.
A total of seven people were displaced by the fire which was ruled accidental, said Doyle.
This is the third major residential fire in the Potomac Communities in the past 24 hours, as one fire broke out at a townhome in Lake Ridge on Thursday afternoon and another townhouse fire ripped through a home in Woodbridge about 1 a.m. Friday.
