Stafford County, Va. –– Stafford County’s website got an upgrade this week offering links to more video, more community news, and more ways for residents to pay their taxes online.
Strikingly different from the county’s old webpage, the new site offers more photos, easier to navigate menus and a layout officials hope will lead to an increase in users.
“The new integrated website makes it easier for residents, businesses and visitors to find the information they need online,” said Stafford County Board of Supervisors Chairman Mark Dudenhefer said in a press release.
Visitors to the new site will immediately see links to find more information about their county government, as well a link to pay water and sewer bills, personal property and real estate taxes, and even pay for dog tags.
Though the site boasts a video media center, no videos were uploaded as of Tuesday night.
The new website comes as the county is looking to rebrand itself to travelers.
In May, county tourism officials began looking at adopting new welcome signs that would greet travelers on local roads and Interstate 95, the signs noting Stafford County as George Washington’s boyhood home.
