Stafford County, Va. –– A student at Mountain View High School brandished a gun during an argument in the school’s parking lot, officials say.
Stafford sheriff’s deputies Wednesday charged a 17-year-old student with brandishing a weapon during an altercation with at least three students on March 7.
Investigators filed the charge, as well as assault and disorderly conduct charges Wednesday.
The sheriff’s department carried out a warrant at the home of the 17-year-old but was unable to recover the gun the teen allegedly brandished on school property, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
During their investigation, sheriff’s deputies say they learned the same juvenile also was involved in a fight in Stafford County’s Seven Lakes neighborhood also on March 7, where he also displayed a handgun, said Kennedy.
More charges against the juvenile are pending he added.
The teen was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford.
