Stalled frieght train affects commute

*This story has been corrected

Woodbridge, Va. –– Passengers onboard a stopped Virginia Railway Express have been told to get off at on the far track at the Rippon station.

VRE’s Fredericksburg line train had to work its way around a stalled freight train south of Woodbridge Thursday afternoon, said VRE spokesman Mark Roeber.

The train left Union Station in Washington at 4:40 p.m.

An earlier version of this story reported passengers were being forced off of the train at VRE’s Rippon station, which was incorrect.
