Small business owners in Prince William County will have a second chance at a grant to help them recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

From Prince William police:

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On June 18 at 12:10PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Brockenbrough Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that a hole was found in a window and interior ceiling of the residence. Another hole was found near a rear door to the home. While investigating, officers discovered an additional home on the same street which sustained damage. The investigation revealed that gunshots were heard in the area between 10:00PM and 11:30PM on June 17. No injuries or other property damage were reported. Officers did respond to a report of suspected gunfire around 10:30PM on June 17. The area was checked at that time, and no evidence of a shooting was located.


Traffic

OmniRide will resume operating all routes and will increase service levels on OmniRide Express buses starting on Monday, June 22.

Weekday Express bus services to destinations in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., will run on a Friday schedule, which is one step down from full-service. The increase in service levels is based on improving coronavirus conditions and the Governor’s order to begin reopening the state.

Since two of our spring concerts were cancelled due to COVID-19, we have been unable to collect donations for these worthy charitable organizations in the same manner as in past years.

The Unity Church, at 14747 Arizona Avenue in Woodbridge, hosted a surprise ceremony and homecoming parade to honor its high school seniors on Saturday, June 6.

Senior Pastor Dr. Nelson K. Williams and his wife, First Lady Lillian Williams, chose to host this event for their high school seniors because they were not able to have a traditional graduation ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.


On Friday, June 12, Prince William County will have a COVID-19 testing site at Our Lady of Angels, which is located at 13752 Marys Way in Woodbridge.

The event begins at 11 a.m., with the parking lot opening at 10:30 a.m. The event is free and focused on reaching members of the community who have physical or financial barriers to accessing testing.
