A study conducted in February of 1,266 area drivers has provided information on the ways that the 95 Express Lanes are changing the commute and general travel for Virginia drivers.

The 95 Express Lanes opened at the end of December last year. Transurban, the company that currently operates the Express Lanes, conducted the study.

The Aden Road Bridge, located just east of Route 28 in Nokesville, will undergo extensive repairs and expansion as part of a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) improvement project this summer.

OWL VFD, usually known for putting out fires and responding to 911 calls, put their hair on the line to raise funds for research to find new cures for childhood cancer. On March 13, 2015, Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department hosted their 10th Annual St. Baldrick’s Event. With 70 heads shaved, OWL VFD raised more than $47,000 and still counting, exceeding last year’s efforts by at least $7,000 dollars.

“A bald head to give a kid with cancer a chance for a cure? Absolutely! It gets a bit cold, but I am happy to help,” said Firefighter Ernest DeSantis.

WUSA-TV reports that Manassas-based Deckorators refunded a Dumfries woman a $6,000 deposit she gave the company last year in exchange for work on her deck that never happened. The refund came after the company’s lawyer offered the refund in exchange for the TV station killing their story on the matter, according to WUSA-TV.
