A man was fatally shot in a commuter parking lot along Prince William Parkway late Saturday night in what police have described as an altercation that turned deadly.
On November 2, at 10:42 p.m., Prince William County police were called to the commuter lot at 2250 Prince William Parkway to investigate reports of gunfire. Officers found the victim, later identified as Jeffery Kojo Owusu, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police provided first aid at the scene, and then took Owusu to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Today, November 4, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin will join Republican congressional candidate Derrick Anderson in a Get Out the Vote Rally in Spotsylvania County.
A former Green Beret, Anderson is vying to unseat Democratic Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger in Virginia’s hotly contested 7th District. Anderson faces Democrat Eugene Vindman in what many are calling a close race.

On the early morning hours of October 24, 2024 deputies responded to Courthouse Commons Subdivision to several reports from homeowners about multiple males tampering with vehicles parked on the street and in driveways. Deputies quickly arrived and located two subjects who ran on foot.
These spaces haven’t been renovated since the library opened in 1991, a press release stated. The renovations are part of the county’s Public Libraries’ Strategic Plan, which aims to provide updated and modernized workspaces to equip library staff with “the tools and space needed to enhance their expertise and better serve the community.”
“Modernizing the staff areas at Chinn Park Library will promote well-being and productivity, contributing to a positive workplace culture. This aligns with PWPL’s focus on creating welcoming spaces that benefit staff and the public,” the press release stated.

Officer Rios held the subject still and applied pressure to the wounds while Officer Ricapito applied a tourniquet to one of the subject’s limbs. Officer Siemek continued to speak with the victim and tried to keep him from losing consciousness while the Officers awaited an ambulance.
The City of Manassas recently announced the acquisition of the 20-acre Marsteller Middle School property at 8730 Sudley Road, marking a significant step forward in its plans to establish a community hub and address a longstanding need for park and recreational facilities.
To engage the community in shaping this new center, Manassas will hold a public meeting titled “Community Conversations,” inviting residents to share their vision and ideas. The public meeting, open to all residents, will take place on Nov. 12 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Marsteller Park & Community Center. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in envisioning the city’s first community center and recreational facility.
