A fatal crash occurred on February 25 at 2:33 p.m. on Pageland Lane near Livia Drive. Crash investigators responded to the scene to examine the incident.

According to the investigation, the driver of a 2014 Nissan Versa was traveling southbound on Pageland Lane at a speed above the posted limit. The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a 2020 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 traveling in the opposite direction.

Fifteen division winners from across the region will compete for a chance to advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Access Eye, the Fredericksburg Host Lions Club, and the Kiwanis Club of Fredericksburg sponsor this annual event.

CRRL has organized the Fredericksburg Regional Spelling Bee since 2017, continuing the tradition previously sponsored by The Free Lance-Star for many years.
