Obituary: Sharon J WIlson (1945-2025)

Sharon Jean (Locker) Wilson of Manassas, Virginia passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025. She had just celebrated her 80th birthday with her family a month earlier.

She is survived by her daughter Leah (Mike) Munnis; her son Jonathan (Gery) Wilson; her grandsons Sean and Jared Casey; step-grandchildren Kiauna (Justin) Munnis, Mike Jr, Jeff Munnis, Kiara, and Pamela; her siblings Leo (Sue) Locker, Connie (Rick) Jorgensen, Howard (Marka) Locker, and Brenda (Harry) Duchscherer; countless nieces and nephews; her grand-dogs Tater and Wilson, her grand-cats Sushi and Sashimi, and her grand-fish Ceviche. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Locker; husband, Fred L. Wilson; and brother, Ryan (Maria) Locker.

Stafford County Unveils Walker’s Inn Historical Marker, Launches African American Heritage Trail

Hundreds gathered at Stafford Hospital on Wednesday afternoon to witness the unveiling of a historical marker commemorating Walker’s Inn. This once-thriving community hub served as a social and cultural landmark for African Americans in Stafford County during the mid-20th century.

The dedication ceremony, part of the Stafford African American Heritage Trail initiative, brought together descendants of the Walker family, local leaders, historians, and community members to celebrate the long-overdue recognition of Walker’s Inn and its role in Stafford’s Black history.

East Coast Wings + Grill, known for its wide variety of wing flavors, has opened its newest location in Manassas. The restaurant, at 9805 Liberia Ave., Suite 121, celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, March 18.

Local entrepreneurs David and Lisa Ware own the new eatery. The husband-and-wife duo are first-time franchisees, drawn to the brand after experiencing it on a business trip. David Ware, who grew up in a family that owned a restaurant and catering business, has spent the past 16 years working as a consultant in both the private and public sectors. Recognizing an opportunity to bring a popular dining option to Manassas, the couple decided to invest in the franchise.
